Book Katherine to Speak

Presentations that change how people think about hearing loss

About my presentations

I bring 30+ years of experience as an educator, a Teacher of the d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and a lifetime of living with hearing loss myself, to every presentation. My talks are personal, practical, and grounded in the emotional realities of hearing loss that often go unspoken.

Whether I'm speaking to people with hearing loss, the allies who support them, or professionals who serve them, my goal is the same: to help people move from isolation and frustration toward connection and confidence.

I speak on topics including:

  • Becoming Hearing Empowered: Transforming how you think about hearing loss — and yourself

  • The Emotional Impact of Hearing Loss

  • Hearing Loss Identity and Self-Acceptance

  • Breaking Down Hearing Loss Stigma

  • Self-Advocacy Skills for Adults and Children

  • Supporting Students with Hearing Loss (for educators and DHH professionals)

  • Becoming a Hearing Ally: How family, friends, and colleagues can truly help

  • How to Facilitate a Becoming Hearing Empowered Book Study

Custom topics available upon request.
