Stories That Sound Like Real Life
Children's books for kids with hearing loss — and the kids, teachers, and families who support them
Most children's books about hearing loss follow a predictable pattern: child struggles, gets hearing aids, everything is fine.
But kids who live with hearing loss know the truth. Their hearing aids don't help much in a noisy cafeteria. Their friends don't automatically know how to include them. They come home exhausted from listening all day.
I wrote this series to give kids what I didn't have growing up: stories where they see themselves. Not as problems to be fixed, but as capable kids learning real skills.
